What is COIDA?

C - It is the Compensation
O - for Occupational
 I - Injuries
D - and Diseases
A - Act, No.130 of 1993 as amended by Act, No 61 of 1

The main purpose of COIDA is to provide compensation for all permanent, casual, temporary or contracted employees who in the course of their employment might:
  • suffer disablement as a result of a work-related injury
  • suffer disablement as a result of contracting a work-related disease
  • suffer death as a result of a work-related injury or disease
